The property has a particularly strong historical resonance and was originally the home of the late former President of Ireland, Sean T. O’Ceallaigh who acquired it in June 1952. Following his death the property was purchased by W. Gallen Weston who later sold the property to Klaus Wiegandt, from whom the ownership was subsequently assumed.
